A Guy I Should Have Met Before
Chapter 1: Stomachache and Sweet Cakes
“That was a devastating day!”, I shouted from the sofa bed.
“Well, at least you spend your day working from home. ‘safely’ bruh”, replied my silly sister in her high heels. She was just came home after work.
Yes, she is that amazing-business-independent-corporate-woman. Meanwhile me, sat on that comfy sofa bed still in my lame-babysit-look-like-uniform plus a silly old basketball pants. Books here and there, and of course a couple of clay and card boxes after my art ‘online’ class in the middle of the pandemic.
Yeah, I am a teacher.
A primary school teacher. Shit. I am a first graders teacher.
“All of my students were driving me crazy with their stupid random questions. My head felt like its going to be exploded!!”.
“Oh please don’t be so dramatic, Clarina.”
“Do you think its time for me to meet a new guy after this crazy working life days, and …”
“You mean those 3 depressed months grieving on your stupid ex, huh?”, answered my sister sarcastically.
RIGHT. My exact thought. I was just cheated on 3 months ago, and was being depressed. Oops. Technically he was my everything until I realize how trash I am for him. By the way, its not about him. This book is dedicated for a sweet guy I met right after him.
“Hey! Don’t you want to consider try online dating apps?”

And so the next day I tried to make my profile in some dating apps. I tried to get to know someone new meanwhile I was still in the middle of grieving and cover it up with being a workaholic teacher so I could distract my mind from again my stupid-depressed-mind. It was a nice working onsite days when I just go home earlier to get my nap time until…
“GREAT! NOW WHAT?! I am on period. Day one.”, mumbling around the room while cleaning all the stuff.
That was a nice day and great nap time until the cramps came in. Shit. I feel like I need to eat something but I don’t feel like it. The worse part of having period cramp is…
Yep. Period Craving.
So I scrolled on grabfood, gofood, shopeefood and everything possible to fulfill my stupid craving that afternoon. Until I realize someone message me on my dating apps. Oops. Finally someone decided to crack on me, huh? Guess my profile is not that bad. LOL. And there you go. The first impression for his profile was:
“What the hell? He only shows his hair like a quarter part of his body how am I gonna know his appearance bruh?”
But he was randomly replied on my preference activity on Sunday morning to read a book and eat cereals. LOL. What a random convo, tho. Turns out the conversation keep going until he ask for my Instagram account. Then he was missing. Like a total fraud. That was quite disappointing, I thought.
And so I came back to my food craving before dinner. And after more than an hour scrolling, I finally decided NOT to eat anything. Really? Period has ruined all my mood and stuff. I just drank my paracetamol hoping I could fell asleep easily. As a lonely single girl, I just made an easy story post on my Instagram showing my paracetamol and water bottle. Put a random caption in it: “Period got me stomachache and headache at the same time.”
Around 8 pm my sister went back home and I was woken up. I was going to charge my phone when one name popped up on my phone screen.
“Nathanalel replied to your story”
My smile widened when I read his message:
“Hey, wanna get out and grab something warm for your stomachache?”
I jumped out of my bed approaching to my sister who was doing her dishes and asked her if I could go out with this guy.
And she said yes.
So, I decided to meet him and wait for him to come. I think thats the first time I got my butterfly again in my stomach after a year. As much as I really excited and want to meet this guy, I was worried too.
I was waiting on the sofabed until a message popped up on my Whatsapp. WAIT WHAT??!! HE SENT ME HIS LIVE LOCATION! ITS GETTING REAL.
Scrolled down and he sent me a picture of a random 3 story building with a cozy and warm yellow light. “I am outside”, he said.
Turns out idk where is that, but its quite near my place. And so he called once again after he arrived at my place.
“Hi! What do you want to eat? Can we find something warm for you around here?”
First impression?
Well, he is kinda cute.
